When established in 1873, the cruise line was known as The Netherlands-America
Steamship Company, but it became popular as the Holland America
Line due to the fact that it carried a great numbers of immigrants
from Holland to America. Sailing for over more than 130 years, the
ambience is traditional with high tea, ballroom dancing et al, even
though it has incorporated several modern facilities like Culinary
Arts Theater for cooking demonstrations and classes, exclusive "Medallion
Shore Excursions" at exotic locales of Asia and Africa, new
Greenhouse Spas on all ships, the "Explorations Cafe"
to serve as a multidimensional venue for onboard programming, a
24-hour concierge service for suite guests and more extensive kids
and youth programs
PLACES COVERED BY HOLLAND AMERICA CRUISE LINE
The Holland America cruises sail through Alaska, Australia, New
Zealand, Asia & Pacific, Canada, new England, Caribbean, Europe,
